Well eventually stem cells should provide a viable solution to replacing the pancreas entirely. In the meantime most diabetics I know have an insulin pump or still use shots while manually extracting blood several times a day to check sugar levels, and manually adjust their shots or insulin pumps accordingly. It still allows for much more sugar fluxuation than a functioning endocrine system would allow but things have improved dramatically. Just 100 years ago it was a death sentence.

I heared about this method more than five years ago, they should be able to go further by now..
